Exploring the Experience of Village Managers in Creating High-Performing Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes)
Abstract
The development of Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) in Indonesiashows different levels of achievement, where some BUMDes aresuccessful while others experience management stagnation. This studyaims to explore the experiences of village managers in developing anoutstanding BUMDes in Purwadana Village, Karawang Regency. Theresearch used a qualitative exploratory approach through interviews,observation, and documentation involving the village head, BUMDesdirector, and operational managers. The findings show that the success ofBUMDes Purwadana was influenced by organizational learning,innovation, collaboration between village government and BUMDesmanagement, and the utilization of local potential. The study highlights theimportance of managerial experience and organizational learning insupporting the sustainability and achievement of BUMDes.
