Analytical Implementation of the Professional Code of Ethics for the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia
Abstract
The presence of the Indonesian National Police creates a sense of security and comfort for the public in carrying out their duties as the National Police in order to gain public trust in the National Police. The National Police's guidelines in all its daily activities in carrying out its duties as a law enforcer are to be guided by a code of ethics. The relevant regulations are contained in National Police Chief Regulation Number 7 of 2022. Violations caused by members of the National Police are due to deficiencies in carrying out moral principles and professional codes of ethics. In this post we try to explain how the National Police Chief Regulation Number 7 of 2022 relates to violations of the Police Code of Ethics. This research is based on Indonesian legal provisions, related laws, and police regulations and uses various data collection techniques from the literature. The application and legal basis for violations of the professional code of ethics in this article must increase the capacity of police officers to carry out their duties effectively.
