Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of soccer shooting learning outcomes among 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 15 Seram Bagian Timur using the "Teaching Games for Understanding" (TGfU) learning model. The study employs a classroom action research procedure conducted in cycles; each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection as the framework for the research stages. The results indicate that the analysis of basic soccer shooting movements in Cycle I yielded an average student performance where 12 students (55%) achieved mastery, while 10 students (45%) did not. Improvements in basic soccer shooting movements in Cycle II showed significant progress; this is evident from the students' average scores and mastery levels, with 22 students—representing the entire class—achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). Based on a reflection of the collected data, the classroom action research results demonstrate that, by the end of the cycle, there was an improvement in the quality of learning regarding basic soccer shooting movements.
